Today is St. Patrick’s Day and we, at Gulpfish, want to be one of the first to wish you a very happy and safe one. St. Patrick’s Day makes you think of green, Irish step dancers, shamrocks, and most of all, Food and Beer. This is where Gulpfish comes in. We are honored to have many great restaurants and pubs as clients, and two that come to mind on this festive weekend are The Whiskey Republic and Tammany Hall. Both of these establishments will give you the kind of fun Irish atmosphere that we all look for when celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.
The lead singer of the punk band Drop Kick Murphys and some of his friends own the Whiskey Republic, located at 515 South Water Street in Providence. They describe the pub as “Part Irish pub, part sports bar and a whole lot of fun.” Whether you are in a group of 15 or just a few of you, you are bound to have great food and a lot of fun. The drink menu offers everything that you would expect from a pub plus more. One note is the lime ricky which is known to be one of the best in the area. The food menu will not let you down. With sandwiches, burgers and entrees to choose from, you will have no problem picking something to eat. The Southern Belle sandwich is a must try. It consists of buttermilk fried chicken, bacon, pimento cheese, spicy apple jam, Boston bibb lettuce, on a potato bun. You even have the option to have a fried egg to it!
What really will impress you is the Whiskey Menu. They have almost every whiskey you can think of. By the glass or , if you are up for it, by the bottle, you will not be disappointed. Some of the choices are Wild Turkey Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Canadian Irish Whiskey, Jameson Rarest Vintage Reserve Irish Whiskey and Elijah Craig 18 year Single Barrel Bourbon is just a small sample of the extensive collection of whiskeys that they offer.
Tammany Hall located at 409 Atwells Avenue is another Irish Pub that will put you in the festive mood this weekend. This is your tried and true Irish Pub. The menu and the drinks are exactly what you come to expect at an Irish Pub. They stick to the traditional pub food and much more, and that’s what makes it so great!
The food menu offers you selections from appetizers, bread and hearty favorites. The bartenders here have been described as “gorgeous”. We will leave that up to you do decide! They are said to give very liberal pours that makes your visit there worth your money. The food is served home-style with very large portions, so bring your appetite with you. The baked macaroni and cheese is said to be the best in the area.
Tammany Hall is also known as a restaurant that gets involved in community and social causes. Two examples are the Rhode Island Autism Project and The Leary Firefighters Foundation. They are very generous and believe in giving back.
These are but two of the many restaurants that are part of the Gulpfish Family. Try them out this weekend, have fun and remember to drink responsibly. If you are impressed as we think you will be, go over to the Gulpfish pageand apply to work at one of these great places.
